HEAL: Dining Experiences Designed for Behavorial Health

Dining services play an integral role in patient care and recovery. Having the right partner can help you achieve your goals for patient-centered care in addition to your financial objectives, satisfaction targets and reputational aspirations.

At the Center of Enhanced Patient Care and Business Efficiency

For nearly 20 years, Unidine’s Healthcare Culinary Group has provided dining management programs that focus on the health and wellbeing of varied populations. We’ve been honored to design programs for some of the most widely recognized behavioral health providers in the industry.

The Unidine team brings passion an enthusiasm to all they do. They are frequently the ones that our patients mention on satisfaction surveys, highlighting the impact they have on each patient during their treatment stay.

Healthy Eating and Living (H.E.A.L.) is a comprehensive program focused on five aspects that embrace every opportunity to promote nutritional wellness:

1. Nutrition

H.E.A.L. is based on Unidine’s nutritional expertise and a deep understanding of the needs of your patients. Chef and dietitian-crafted menus, built on fresh ingredients, replenish deficiencies and support physical and emotional wellbeing with a focus on malnutrition, blood sugar management, mood, sleep and the reduction of relapses.

2. Customized Menus

Our nourishing menus are geographically customized and seasonally altered by our chefs to feature local favorites. Menus offer the variety and options that make it easy for your patients to find something they’d like, while making healthy choices.

3. Clinical Support

Expert dietitians oversee the nutritional foundation of our menus and design individualized interventions that include specialized menus and nutrition counselling. We heal and nourish the body, stabilize mood, reduce cravings and address concurrent medical conditions. Nutritionists also offer sessions on meal planning and other life skills and support post-discharge care with specialized resources and toolkits.

4. Communications & Education

Educational messaging and evidence-based nutrition education and tools support the specific needs during a patient’s stay and after discharge. “Did you know?” information bursts and promotional materials around themed events promote learning and sustained results.

5. Enriched Experiences

Unidine designs purpose-fit dining environments that minimize stress and anxiety, while building the cognitive performance essential to wellbeing. Our focus on goes well beyond the plate to embrace the whole experience. From themed events and activities to serving vessels and small-wares, we see to it that the environment promotes community and connection as well as physical and emotional wellbeing.

Enriched experiences in an attractive dining environment can be a hallmark of your brand promise, as well as a valuable marketing tool. Exhibition cooking, teaching kitchens and themed events are outward reflections of a caring community that enables to patients to build connections with their families and each other and as they connect with the principles of healthy eating.
